昔のオリジナルギアー。サイドポンツーン。
40代（30年程前）の頃、シーカヤックでセーリング（オリジナルバイダルカ型セール）の時にスタビリティーを高める為に創作。普通はアウトリガーですが、パドリング重視の為にコックピットサイドに取り付けるタイプ。
壮大な夢があり、日本海をソロカヤック（タンデムを改良）でナホトカまで横断。為に、アクアラングからCO2ボンベ仕入れ、ガスと口で吹き込む W使用を作ったり、夜寝る時に流されない様に、ドローグを作り（パラシュートフレアタイプではボートにストレスがかかり過ぎる）、荒れた海でテストを繰り返し改良。西ドイツから逆輸入の防水Wジッパーでスプレースカートを作ったりと。でも夢は夢、コースは島根から七ツ島〜韓国＝北朝鮮〜ナホトカ。決行すれば確実に北朝鮮に拿捕、為に中止。
その時の経験から、ポンツーンは低価格でシンプル、必要な時に海上で直ぐに取り付けられる発泡ウレタンがベスト。若いとは大胆で怖いもの無しでしたね。
