国内での自然寒天作りの発祥地の亀岡、畑野周辺を探索。
亀岡の西最奥の畑野は、兵庫と大阪に頭を突っ込んだような山村。
京都府亀岡市では、江戸時代後期以来行われてきた寒天製造を今尚継承しています。
現在では天然の寒天製造は、国内では亀岡市のほか、兵庫県猪名川町 、岐阜県恵那市と長野県茅野市が知られるのみとなっているが、恵那市と茅野市には 亀岡市から寒天作りが伝わったといわれている。（文化庁語録）
