前回は裏参道から、今回は表参道から登る。登り始めて30分程で、石の大鳥居が現れる。此処からが神の領域、拝礼してから奥へ進んで行くと、山頂手前に結構な巨石群が見える。石窟、祠があり奥に、石仏が安置されている。
一つは不動明王を奉ってあり、もう一つは壮年期の役行者を真ん中に、左右を前鬼、後鬼が守っています。
昔から全ての自然物、特に大岩などには神が宿る自然信仰を背景に、修験道が結び付く日本古来の信仰が多々有りますね。
トレッキングしていると、歴史の背景に触れる機会多く、昔の人の生き様を感じます。
