保津川プライベートDR。
久しぶりにHEROⅡに乗りたくて、保津峡〜電車廻送。結果は？やはりランドクルーザー40系、ノーパワーステアリング、そのものでした。気に入りました。今流のクリークボートは、レースの為にスピード優先、ロングホイールベース。HEROⅡの特徴は、軸ポイントが膝（サイブレス）にあり、バウコントロールを主に。一般のクリークボートは腰、腰後ろ。フラットでもエッジングでもバウラダー＆ドローで自由に回転、スターンが振らない。独特の張り出したサイブレスが三次元の粘るエッジングを可能にしてくれます。シルエットからも、スピードは求めて無く、パドラーがパワーストロークで稼ぐもの。四駆の低速ギアで何処でも越えて行く強さを持っています。水上のランクル40です。偶発的に産まれたデザインと思いますが、まさに名艇です。
