美山側から渓流を遡り、長老が岳を目指す。
渓流では変化ある小滝（3～5メートル）を見ながら迄は良かったが、その先が大変。
地図ではルート載っているが、何にもない。
急斜面の崖を上り、小尾根を探すが無い。獣道も見えない。
這いつくばって取りあえず、尾根を目指す。
2時間半かかって、やっと仏主峠に出て少し安堵する。
後はスムーズにルートあり山頂を目指す。
帰りもルートから外れて薮こぎ、尾根伝いに下りるが斜度が半端で無い。
木、小枝、根っこをアンカーにして這いつくばって下りるが、落葉の腐葉土が積もり滑りまくり。
単独の為、足でも折ったら最悪、慎重に下山しました。
思った以上に時間掛かり、5時間30分でした。
